2024 Interior Design Trends

Updated: 5 days ago

Here are the top 6 design trends we’ve chosen to enhance your space for 2024.

Natural wood wall paneling can break up a wall to create an interesting focal point – or feature wall. Painting techniques can create texture and bring a unique character, and connection to nature with earth-toned colours.
Advancements in technology have made our homes “smarter” and continue to revolutionize the way we live, which can enhance comfort and convenience. As smart homes grow in application, innovations will continue to transform how we interact with our living spaces. Automation and customization make smart homes efficient, secure, and enjoyable, with the potential for further advancements to make our lives easier and safer.

Permanent home offices are becoming a fixture in every household since the rise of hybrid-work and remote-work options.

Having a designated work area can help individuals create a boundary between their personal life and work responsibilities. This separation can lead to increased focus and productivity during work hours, while also allowing for better relaxation and rejuvenation during personal time.

Customizing your space to maximize efficiency can differ from the bland and stark all-white, florescent lighting of a traditional office. Designers are creating bold statement pieces using dark neutrals or bold accent colours coupled with wood paneling or intricate shelving techniques. This can spark creativity all the way down to the fixtures on your desk.
The desire for natural, sunlit interiors is on pace to become the top design trend in 2024. Invite the advantages of natural light into your living space by incorporating elements such as large windows, skylights, and strategically positioned mirrors to enhance the ambiance and play with the light.

Naturally illuminated interiors not only feel welcoming and spacious but also promote vitamin D synthesis, concentration, and overall well-being.
A sustainable design approach can be clean, uncluttered, and rich in character. It emphasizes a preservation and bond with nature to inspire care for the environment.

Biophilic design involves incorporating natural textures, colours, and patterns indoors to create a calming and connected environment. This could include features like living walls, indoor gardens, sustainable materials, and energy-efficient techniques. The future of design aims to be both visually appealing and environmentally friendly.
